Legend has it that the Spiritual Spring Formation could allow any cultivator who purifies himself there, to become an immortal within a day.

This legend has its origins from a Supreme Deity who selected Fuxi Mountain as the core of the formation, because of the existence of this spiritual spring. This Deity purified himself in the spring and ascended to immortality within a day.

The spring had such a great concentration of spiritual energy that it attracted countless cultivators. Like many other famous attractions, as more people visited, the spring became mindlessly misused and greedily trampled upon. The spring still remained but soon, the stories of ascension and miracles slowly faded away.

That being said, the spiritual spring still made an exceptional place for healing and nourishing spiritual energy.

Yet, Bai Fanlu couldn't care less about that as every single one of his brain cells were shivering at the moment.

According to the original plot, Yun Zhan was not injured at all. The one who had succeeded in breaking through the formation was Yun Zhan and not the book’s Bai Fanlu, who was seriously injured.

Although Shizun also mentioned that he wanted the book’s Bai Fanlu to join Yun Zhan at the spiritual spring, the book’s Bai Fanlu was even determined to follow Yun Zhan down the mountain, and went to great lengths to conjure a spell to conceal his injuries. However, Ling Qingzi saw through the spell, knew about the injuries and his infatuation with Yun Zhan. He could not bear to break the heart of his disciple and allowed it.

This notable chapter, featuring the purification at the spiritual spring, was supposed to take place later in the plotline, when Yun Zhan came back bearing a real and serious injury, and was accompanied by the book’s Bai Fanlu to the spring.

As for the consequences of them going to the spring together...that was indescribable.

"I need to cultivate behind closed doors for a day. We will find another time to break through the formation, I will leave Yun Zhan to you."

Ling Qingzi's voice pulled Bai Fanlu's wandering thoughts back to reality.

Bai Fanlu raised his eyes in embarrassment, only to see that the blood stains on the corner of Ling Qingzi's lips had been cleaned off at some point, but his complexion remained pale, and his lips were in an alarming shade of red. Bai Fanlu knew that the battle just now had obviously caused great damage to his vitality.

"...Yes, Shizun."

Ling Qingzi was injured in order to save him, the impostor. Bai Fanlu felt guilty, and could only stiffen his head and agree to his request.

Ling Qingzi shut his eyes again and his figure faded into smoke and disappeared.

On the platform, there were only Bai Fanlu and the young man in blue, who was lying on the ground, seemingly unconscious.

What a coincidence that Yun Zhan had injured Bai Fanlu’s right shoulder earlier, now he was injured on his own right shoulder by the two concealed weapons. Calling it even now!

Alright then, I will just toss him into the spiritual spring and leave. He was not the book’s Bai Fanlu and was not tempted to use this opportunity to get closer to Yun Zhan or motivated to go to lengths to heal him.

Bai Fanlu thought to himself as he looked down at Yun Zhan, who was lying stiffly and obviously taller and stronger than he was, How can I get him down into the spiritual spring?

Looking around, the other disciples were long gone, so Bai Fanlu squatted down and grabbed Yun Zhan's arm, mentally reciting a teleportation spell.

With a flash of white light, he appeared beside the spring.

It turns out that it was possible to teleport in this world!

But when he looked down...his hands were empty, it seemed that this spell was just for the conjurer and he could not take anyone with it. He had to return again.

If I can't take someone with me for the spell, then can I take someone on my sword? The distance between the platform and the spring should be quite close.

The book described that the spiritual spring was located within a cave at the end of the path behind the formation, so he might as well use the most primitive method.

Bai Fanlu squatted down again saying, "Shidi, can you walk?"

There was no response. Bai Fanlu patted and pinched Yun Zhan's face, confirming that he was indeed fully unconscious, before struggling to help the man sit up and slinging him over his shoulders.

He's heavy...

Bai Fanlu could barely stand straight with the added weight and with a limping, awkward gait, he slowly descended the platform.

At an angle not visible to Bai Fanlu, the young man who was supposed to be unconscious, slowly opened his eyes and gazed fixedly at the fair neck of Bai Fanlu.

Compared to the Spiritual Spring Formation, which was a bare round boulder, the spring itself seems more like an ethereal scene in the immortal world.

It was morning on Earth, the sun was shining in the east and the clouds in the sky were tinged with the warm colours of sunrise. Fuxi Mountain was home to a large variety of exotic flora and fauna. At this moment, cranes could be heard in the distance, accompanied by the bubbling rhythm of the spring.

But Bai Fanlu was unable to enjoy such a wonderful sight.

Bai Fanlu's shoulder was already injured, and he had just fought with the demonic creature, so now he was struggling to hold on to his breath and move down slowly.

He could only be thankful that the spiritual spring was under the formation and not on top, he would not have been able to carry Yun Zhan if he had to ascend flights of steps.

Unrestrained, he voiced out his frustrations, "Shidi, shidi, eat less in future."

"Okay."

A wisp of melting hot air brushed past his ear, causing Bai Fanlu to stumble violently. His feet were weak, his ankles were in severe pain, and then his body could no longer be kept upright...

Before he hit the ground, he felt a strong push on his shoulder, and then he went from being sprawled on his face to landing on his back. He felt a soft body beneath him, and together, both fell and rolled down the stone steps.

The duo continued rolling down and only stopped after reaching the foot of the steps, landing with a splash into the cool waters.

Bai Fanlu was dizzy, his ears were deafened by a ringing, his eyes were flipped white, and the man he had just been holding on to floated upwards and disappeared, while Bai Fanlu plummeted down into the depths with a sudden surge of suffocation.

It was silent, except for the sound of the air bubbles rising.

Oh shit! He couldn't swim!

Bai Fanlu frantically started kicking like a frog, the only swimming technique that he could recall at this critical moment.

Gurgling, a string of bubbles rose from his mouth.

At that moment, a figure broke through the rippling waves of light from above and swam towards him.

Bai Fanlu was overwhelmed with surprise and waved his arms with great effort, but when the figure got closer, his surprise turned to shock.

It was Yun Zhan!

To be honest, Bai Fanlu admired himself, he was in a life-and-death situation, and when he saw the life-saving figure floating towards him, his first thought was not to cling to it, but recall the passage in the book—

"He opened his mouth, took his soft lips, and sent a stream of warm oxygen in, but he did not pull away after that. It could have been either one of them who made the move but the two men ended up fiercely and passionately entwined like water plants..."

!!!

Bai Fanlu prayed hard to avoid the scenario, and when Yun Zhan was about to reach him, a miracle happened. He shot up like an arrow, no, more like he leaped like a flying fish out of the water surface.

His head plunged into a bush of Chinese Menosa and Bai Fanlu was so shocked that he coughed out a chestful of water and gasped for fresh air.

Phew! So close...too close...

His memory of the plotline was not to blame here. In all honesty, it was the explicit description of the men that was too memorable. There were only two such chapters in the book.

And immediately after he emerged from the water, another person emerged, and Bai Fanlu quickly hid.

The man just swam slowly to the shore and leaned his back against a rock, his shoulders rising and falling with every breath, as if he was extremely tired, and he didn't say a word.

Bai Fanlu waited, but before he knew it, the immortal qi on his body had dried up his clothes, and the haze on the grounds had also drifted away, but Yun Zhan was still leaning in the same position as before, and never moved again.

Bai Fanlu wanted to retreat quietly. But once he thought about the relationship between the book’s Bai Fanlu and Yun Zhan and remembered that this man had given him a hand when he first fell down, he decided to stay for another minute.

Just one minute sounds pretty reasonable.

Yun Zhan seemed to have been really badly hurt, and while Bai Fan Lu's clothes had dried, he was still dripping wet.

It is said that an immortal's wet body can either be dried by passive immortal qi or active immortal qi, so Bai Fanlu thought that he must have just been dried passively, so now he would try to help Yun Zhan.

Bai Fanlu recited a purification spell silently, and with a single wave directed at Yun Zhan's back. His blue clothes changed from a vivid blue stained with water back to a bright blue, even the blood stains were removed.

Yun Zhan was the white mouse and the experimentation of this spell worked, it was a useful one.

A minute later, Bai Fanlu got up and left on time.

When he reached the steps, he saw a boundary marker where the water ended, with the words ‘Spiritual Spring’ inscribed on it.

The Spirit Spring was a sacred place for healing in the Immortal World.

In the original story, it was said that disciples were not allowed to take a dip without permission from Ling Qingzi. Of course, except for Yun Zhan, who was now the Sect Leader.

"..."

Bai Fanlu was just too occupied with his surroundings but when he thought about it, the discomfort he felt after his body was heavily injured seemed to have diminished, and he was a lot lighter when climbing the steps. Is it possible that it is the effect of the momentary fall into the water just now?

He looked back at the spring and thought it was a pity to leave such a good healing place.

Besides, it was Ling Qingzi who had told him to stay here to heal his wounds, so if he left without healing his wounds, he would be the one to suffer.

More importantly, if he didn't heal his wounds, he wouldn't be able to leave the mountain to live in seclusion.

Bai Fanlu turned back and chose a position that was furthest away from Yun Zhan where he could also have an unblocked view of his opponent's every movement from a distance.

Tsk, the water was so cold.

Bai Fanlu did not dare to dip himself completely in the spring as he was still afraid after the near-drowning experience just now. He only dipped his calves in, and as soon as it touched his skin, the spring water seemed to have a consciousness, and quickly formed circular ripples around his legs.

At first the cold of the water was biting, but gradually it felt warm and comfortable. Bai Fanlu noticed a bruise on his ankle and wondered where he had just sprained it earlier. But as he pondered, the bruise faded as if nothing happened at all.

Amazing, he thought as he witnessed the powers of this spring. The spring water was so clear that one could see all the way to the bottom. He then lowered his body to have a clearer view of the spring and its powers.

He touched the surface of the spring with one finger and a bit of spiritual energy came rushing through his finger, causing more ripples on the surface of the water.

"What are you looking at, Shixiong?"

Hearing the question, Bai Fanlu froze for a moment before slowly looking up.

It wasn't the question that made him freeze, but that voice, now speaking more words than the “Okay” earlier on. The voice sounded really good.

Oh shit, occupational hazard is at it again.

"Today, I am the one who acted rashly and hurt Shixiong by mistake, please don’t take offence.”

This voice is so sexy, a pity that he is not a character voice actor.

But…having a voice so sexy is one thing, this particular voice could even hypnotize a soul.

Bai Fanlu coughed lightly, straightened up, slightly frowned, and returned to silence.

This silence for one is a roundabout way to express dissatisfaction. Not take offence? How could he not? But since he had also taken his revenge and had to maintain the relationship with him as the book’s Bai Fanlu, he could only explode in silence.

The silence was also Bai Fanlu being cautious.

If the projected danger index of not having a relationship was five stars, with Yun Zhan’s great voice, it had now shot straight up to seven stars.

Bai Fanlu knew too well the weakness he had for voices, and he must definitely stay away from this Yun Zhan, otherwise the consequences would be unthinkable.

"Shixiong..."

"With such a serious injury, it is advisable to concentrate on meditation and not to speak." Bai Fanlu made up his mind not to let Yun Zhan say one more word.

Yun Zhan lowered his head and gazed at the water in front of him, "You are still angry."

Bai Fanlu failed to stop him from saying this, and this sentence was said with a hint of sorrow and hurt in a voice that was so beautiful. Bai Fanlu only had one thought, this is a fabulous character voice.

But he hadn't forgotten how dark the heart of this man was.

"So I shouldn't be angry?" In a kind of calm tone that was still in line with the original owner's persona, Bai Fanlu asked rhetorically.

The young man still looked despondent and disheveled, and a moment later, his body sank and he took the initiative to dive into the water.

Bai Fanlu was at a loss as to how to respond when an ethereal voice came from his spiritual awareness—

"Shixiong, I'm sorry, you can leave."
