Chi Muyao struggled to get up and crawl towards Yi Qianxi. He grabbed her wrist and helped heal her using the Colourless Yunni Deer's ability.

Yi Qianxi finally recovered a bit and lifted her head to look at him. "Don't...the arrow can't be removed. Your arm..."

"It's fine..." Chi Muyo replied painfully with white lips.

"Xi-shixiong!" Han Qingyuan held Xi Zihe and cried out in pain.

Only then did Chi Muyao turn to look at Xi Zihe.

To him, Xi Zihe had the male lead halo. He could get hurt, but he wouldn't die.

Sure enough, there was an arrow in his shoulder. He wasn't in the best condition, but his life wasn't at risk.

Chi Muyao could save him.

Their group really was a haggard bunch. It took all their might to destroy one of Su You's puppet dopplegangers, and one without spiritual energy at that.

If they encountered Su You at his full might, they would probably all die with a raise of his hand.

After Mu Ren and the others were untied, they all gathered together to rest and recuperate.

Some ventured out of the pure land to quickly retrieve medicine. They breathed a sigh of relief after using it.

Although the medicine had also been cleansed of spiritual energy, they were still seventy percent effective.

Yu Yanshu sat opposite Chi Muyao. He tore a piece of cloth to wrap around Chi Muyao's upper arm before checking out his injury. "Bear with me a moment as I pull it out."

Chi Muyao nodded. Although he appeared to be strong, his forehead was still dotted with sweat.

Yu Yanshu cut off part of the arrow and tapped his acupuncture points. Asking someone else to hold Chi Muyao down, he quickly pulled the arrow out in one move.

Chi Muyao cried out in pain before quickly healing the wound with his ability.

Even so, he still felt his eyes go dark for a second. His body fell backwards, but luckily Yu Yanshu caught him.

Yi Qianxi was afraid other people would discover Chi Muyao's healing ability, so she went through the motions of cleaning his wound before bandaging it.

“Is it better?” she asked privately.

There was an implied meaning to this question.

Chi Muyao nodded. "En, much better."

He understood Yi Qianxi's question and mentioned how the wound was almost healed. He only suffered a bit when the arrow was pulled out.

Yu Yanshu glanced at them before walking over to help Xi Zihe.

Chi Muyao followed. He discreetly grasped Xi Zihe's wrist and healed everything except the skin-deep wounds when Yu Yanshu pulled the arrow out.

This way, Xi Zihe's injuries wouldn't be too serious, nor would it be obvious he was healed.

After this, he let go of Xi Zihe and sat to the side against a wall like he was tired out.

Yi Qianxi rushed over to check on him.

Yu Yanshu kept looking at Chi Muyao. He hesitated a moment, wanting to come over and ask a few questions, but then Mu Ren brought many medicines to Chi Muyao, feeding him some and saying how he could help apply others. He was rejected.

Yu Yanshu didn't disturb him anymore. He wanted to sit and meditate, but he found himself growing tired without spiritual energy. His body also ached something fierce.

He could only lie in the corner and quietly rest while covering his wounds.

There were disciples going around asking about their comrades, but Yu Yanshu was too tired to manage them.

He was so tired and in pain.

He was nearing his limit.

After dozing off for who knew how long, he found that his wounds were much better. Opening his eyes, he caught Chi Muyao quickly letting go of his wrist.

Just like before.

He looked at Chi Muyao, who smiled at him and asked, "Are you feeling better?"

"En, much better." He pushed himself up into a sitting position and looked around. Everyone seemed to be busy.

Chi Muyao explained, "Everyone will start to feel hunger once here. After discussion, we decided to look around and see if we can hunt some food. Take a rest first, I'll go with Shijie."

"I'll come too."

"You're hurt—"

"I can do it." Yu Yanshu stood up quickly and went with Chi Muyao and the others.

Yi Qianxi took the lead. She squatted down at the boundary of the pure land and squinted at the forest for prey.

Yu Yanshu could not help but ask, "Can she see anything this way?"

"En, Shjie is very skilled."

Chi Muyao walked about one hundred meters away from Yi Qianxi and squatted down too, observing with her.

After watching for a while, Yu Yanshu squatted down beside Chi Muyao.

Chi Muyao didn't mind at first until he heard Yu Yanshu gently say, "Thank you."

"En?" He thought Yu Yanshu was thanking him for saving people earlier, so he replied, "It's nothing. I should've kept an eye out for people on the roof."

Yu Yanshu said again, "This time, and the last time, thank you for healing my wounds. "

"En?!" Chi Muyao was shocked.

"Last time...it was you, right? I seemed to see pink peach blossoms where I was hiding."

"..." Chi Muyao's expression instantly collapsed. “At that time, I thought that I was going to die, but my injuries suddenly improved a lot. I heard some faint sounds faintly and knew that you had come. This time, I was tormented by my wounds all night, but they got better when you came."

"Maybe it's just your body healing quickly?"

"I won't say a word to anyone."

Yu Yanshu kept looking out into the forest instead of at him. His words were calm and without fluctuation.

Yet waves crashed onto Chi Muyao's heart.

Not only has Yu Yanshu discovered his healing ability, but also his identity as a He Huan Sect disciple.

It was really a two hit KO.

Chi Muyao stared at Yu Yanshu for so long the other party turned to look at him with a gentle smile.

His eyes were slightly bent, and the corners of his mouth seemed to hook up ever so slightly.

It was a refreshing smile, comforting like a spring breeze or a ray of warm sunshine.

Yu Yanshu smiled and said, "I owe you much for saving my life. If I'm able to, I'll more than return the favour in this lifetime. I just hope it will be in better straits than now."

Yu Yanshu was perceptive, but also knew how to keep a secret.

Of course Chi Muyao believed in Yu Yanshu's character. He was the delicate jade, the demure phoenix, the purest person in this world.

However, the thought of his secret being known still made him panic, no matter who it was.

He also couldn't understand why Yu Yanshu said it aloud. Shouldn't he keep such things in his heart according to his character?

Chi Muyao and Yu Yanshu sank into an embarrassed silence.

Chi Muyao didn't speak for a long time, but Yu Yanshu wasn't in a hurry. He just looked at him calmly.

This feeling was very strange. Chi Muyao felt that something in his mind was breaking apart.

He seemed to find something strangely off about Yu Yanshu, but he couldn't put his finger on it.

At this point, there were sudden disturbances in other locations.

Yi Qianxi was the first to jump up and rush over.

Chi Muyao finally returned to his senses and followed Yi Qianxi. He knew that Yu Yanshu was following him.

It wasn't until they reached the crowd that they learned of what was going on.

In the chaos, one person pointed at the shadows on the wall and said to Yu Yanshu, "Yu-shixiong, the shadows here aren't following us!"

They looked over and saw a shadow walk by on the wall, but there was no movement in the crowd.

Chi Muyao glanced around. There were no clouds or objects that could cast such a shadow.

Looking down, none of them had a shadow.

A shadow was something so mundane you forgot about it. Only now did Chi Muyao notice his was gone.

That didn't make sense.

Someone said, "Look at these two shadows, aren't they Yi Qianxi and Chi Muyao's?!"

Chi Muyao confirmed it was their shadows from the shape of their hair and clothes.

However, he and Yi Qianxi were standing still while the shadows on the wall were moving.

The situation was very creepy.

At this time, the shadows changed position.

One person exclaimed, "Chi Muyao looks like he's choking Yi Qianxi! Did he lose his mind and want to kill his Shijie? Look, isn't the other shadow rushing over Xi Zihe? He seems to want to break it up. Could this be predicting our future?”

Everyone looked at the shadows. Another speculated, “Could this shadow reflect inner desires? Has Chi Muyao always wanted to kill his Shijie?"

The people involved looked at those shadows. They were unhappy to hear this analysis.

Yi Qianxi kicked the person who said it. "Shut your mouth! No one wants to look at you even if you pay them."

That person was still unconvinced. "I'm just being rational. Don't you suspect anything as the person being attacked?!"

“What would I suspect? My little Shidi is the one who takes care of me all the time. He also sealed himself in a killing formation to save other people! I wouldn't be as dumb as you and suspect him!"

Chi Muyao waved his hand to tell Yi Qianxi not to fight.

He saw the shadows on the wall separate, as if they weren't trying to kill someone a moment earlier. They returned to their own tasks.

Like nothing had ever happened…

Chi Muyao spoke, "There is something strange about this place. Our shadows seem to have been cut off. Is there anything else?"

The crowd looked at each other and muttered, "The strangest thing is probably spiritual energy being eliminated."

Everyone continued to investigate but failed to find anything else strange.

The miasma from the forest intensified, much stronger than when they came in. The amount of time they could stay awake and alert had probably shortened.

A Golden Core stage cultivator tried to leave, but he didn't get far before he had to come back.

These results made everyone frustrated, but there was nothing they could do.

As long as they hadn't found a way out, they were stuck here.

Even if this place was off, they could only hide here to survive.

Yi Qianxi took Chi Muyao to find Han Qingyuan to ask about spirit beasts. She still cared a lot about that.

Han Qingyuan finally recovered enough to answer questions. She walked out of the pure land and retrieved several bones from her Hundred Item Brocade, handing them to Yi Qianxi. "We went to the Xiang Huang Pavilion and discovered there was an altar underneath the Sect with such bones nailed to the walls. These are obviously spirit beast bones. We suspect the strange things happening here have to do with spirit beasts running amok."

Editor's Corner

*TL/DR – I’ll be reposting the message below to other chapters for those who read more than one story on Peach Blossom.

Hi guys, I’ve already mentioned some of this over on CG, but wanted to say something here too…
I apologise for the late chapter releases, this is on me and has nothing to do with our lovely translators.

My mother has been in hospital since mid June fighting a serious of life-threatening health crisis. Additionally, myself, husband and youngest daughter were involved in a serious car accident in July (not our fault). These are just two of the not-so-nice events I’ve experienced this year (the list is kinda ridiculous and I’m not here to garner pity so I’m mentioning the main ones).

This has meant that finding the time for the things I need to do and those I love to do (like translating and editing) has been difficult. I will always ensure I get chapters out as soon as I can, but would like your understanding for the time being if they’re a little late…

Thank you! <3

Sahl
