It's Actually Epiphyllum...

As soon as those words left Su Yang’s mouth, Gu Feidi’s expression suddenly changed. Eyes filled with shock, disbelief, confusion, to anger. Those emotions were sharp as arrows.

Gu Feidi’s slightly trembling voice dropped a few octaves, “You actually dare to say that?!”

Su Yang looked blankly.

After pondering carefully, he was sweating a bucket of cold sweat.

Did he imagine Gu Feidi was pressured to marry? Then why did Gu Feidi ask those questions out of the blue?

—“Has the Evil Sect’s leader arranged for your marriage yet?”

—“Pu Lingyun is actually a good lady…”

Su Yang: “...”

As if he jumped one meter high, he immediately raised his hand up in surrender and attempted to justify, “No, no, I don’t like Pu Lingyun that way. I mean, Pu Lingyun is very suitable for you! Don’t make marriage out to be like a death sentence. You should spend some quality time with her, you might find her to be the perfect girl…”

“Oh…” Gu Feidi smiled like a mad hatter and said, “You were caring about me”

Su Yang silently shut his mouth, Gu Feidi’s face looked very irritated. It looked like he really didn’t like Pu Lingyun right now.

Clicking his tongue, This is troublesome! After the Evil Sect’s Forbidden Ground plot, without the loyal vow between the protagonist and the heroine, how would the poison part be played out?

Seeing Su Yang not talking, Gu Feidi also stayed silent. His sword tip pointed toward the ground, looking somewhat helpless.

After a while, he whispered, “Su Yang.”

Su Yang regained his senses. “Yeah?”

Pulling at the corner of his mouth, Gu Feidi said through his gritted teeth, “Sometimes, I wish I could beat the living daylights out of you.”

Su Yang: “...”

He won’t back down, “You? Beat me? You can’t even win against me!”

If you want to beat the Young Master, you still have a long way to go. Not now, not even when we enter the Evil Sect’s Forbidden Ground plot. Even during that plotline, Gu Feidi was still too weak against the Young Master! Su Yang laughed evilly inside!

Listening to his brag, Gu Feidi narrowed his eyes very threateningly, and said laughing slowly, “Why don’t we test that theory right now?”

Su Yang actually didn’t want to fight Gu Feidi here. If one of them accidentally got hurt, he would just block the path for Mr. Plot again.

Looking at Gu Feidi’s sword hanging on his waist, an idea suddenly came to him. “I won’t fight! I don’t have my sword on me. You lost in our prior fights, anyway.”

“Oh, because I let you win.” Gu Feidi replied.

Not believing him, Su Yang rebuked, “Are you going to put me at a disadvantage by asking for your sword back?”

Gu Feidi smiled, not knowing if it was from the anger or finding this whole thing amusing. “We won’t be using swords, we will fight weaponless. Let's see if you can still act high and mighty once I win.”

Su Yang insisted, “I won’t fight!”

Gu Feidi provoked, “Could it be that the Evil Sect’s Young Master is afraid to fight weaponless?”

Inside of Su Yang’s head: Don’t make me laugh, how could this Young Master be afraid? You can beat me, you can bleed me, but you can’t break my character!

That was how they ended up where they are now, standing in the open space at the cave outside of the stone chamber. As they bowed to each other before the start of the fight, Su Yang was still in a slight trance.

Weren’t they just working on filling the stone wall and discussing the Sword Sage’s inheritance? How did they suddenly go from chatting about responsibility and marriage to starting a fight? How did this happen?

Luckily, he still had the time to smoothly process his current situation, trying to put them into logical words...

However, Gu Feidi didn’t plan to give time for Su Yang to think.

He raised his hands. “I will allow you to make the first two moves.”

Su Yang laughed like the Young Master. “This Young Master doesn’t need you to yield an advantage for him. You can give me all you’ve got!”

“As you wish,” Gu Feidi chuckled.

Although both of them practiced heavily on their swordsmanship, they still touched on their barehanded combat ability in case of an event where they became unarmed and defenceless.

Especially Gu Feidi. After all, the training he underwent from childhood was not for show. He worked very hard for years, the skill would naturally burst out from him when the times called for it.

Compared to him, Su Yang, who was tossed into a role he was not fully trained for, his skill was inferior—the original Young Master might win if faced with his situation. Since Su Yang entered the body, he always practiced to death on his internal energy and sword skill, and poorly on hand to hand combat. In the end, he relied on Cherished Flower Steps to avoid Gu Feidi’s attack almost every time.

After two years of training in the House of Jade, their internal energy was at the same excellent levels, so their martial art skill played a huge role in the fight.

This fight lasted before the time to drink a cup of tea—less than fifteen minutes. Gu Feidi closed the gap between the two, flipped Su Yang to the ground, and sat on his back.

Su Yang turned his head from the ground and looked up behind him, said in resentment, “This doesn’t count! I can’t use my full strength with my injury!”

Gu Feidi pressed on Su Yang’s waist, as he held Su Yang’s hands behind his back, said grinning, “Do you yield?”

Su Yang rolled his eyes so hard, he could see the back of his head. “Stop being childish!”

In response, Gu Feidi laughed.

After many failed attempts at struggling, Su Yang tried saving his ass using a misdirection method, “Why don’t we learn the sword technique in the stone chamber? I am sure it's worth something. Why don’t we learn it together?”

Gu Feidi deadpanned, “Yield and we can go learn together.”

Switching to a different tactic, he faked hissing in a cool breath and panting out, “Ouch, you are pressing down on my wound.”

Hearing Su Yang’s pained cry, Gu Feidi really loosened the strength on the hands holding Su Yang down and released some pressure on his back.

Su Yang immediately tried to fend Gu Feidi off. With a sharp twist of his arms to free his hands from Gu Feidi’s grasp. But Gu Feidi noticed the deception and increased his strength in the trapped hands. But it was too late, as Su Yang was half free and this made it hard for Gu Feidi to have a firm handle. The two started a rough back and forth, trying to gain higher ground.

Suddenly, a sound of fabric ripping—the clothes that were cut apart in the chaotic battle at the cliff, adding on top of it the time it was soaked in the cold water, were torn apart along with the biggest tear in the back.

Su Yang: “...”

This was just awesome. He donated his outer coat for the torch. Now his inner robe was killed in battle with honour. Did that mean he would have to run around in just his outer robe?

Gu Feidi was sitting on Su Yang’s back and was momentarily startled by what he was seeing.

He reached out to open the rip in the back of Su Yang’s outer robe without thinking, eyes locked on the red flowers that were blooming like flames engraved on Su Yang’s back.

Now, without the silk inner robe’s hazy shelter, the flower was displayed clearly under his sight.

The flowers were in a gorgeous red; the petals layered like the pure lotus held by the immortal. They were bewitching, yet innocent, blazing yet detached. All the descriptions were undoubtedly contradicting one another, but the flowers were so beautiful, one couldn’t help not looking away—like a flower from out of this world. They were red epiphyllumsJust a reminder - they look like this....

In a burst of surprise, Gu Feidi stared at the enchanting flowers in dismay.

He murmured, “...Yantan…crimson epiphyllum, the name of your Sect?”

“Hey! Gu Feidi! Could you not!” Su Yang shouted in a rage.

He twisted around and threw the still stunned Gu Feidi from his back. Turning from passive to active behaviour, he saddled Gu Feidi, reached out, and closed his hands around his target’s neck without squeezing. He bent down, eyes squinting as he grinned mischievously.

“You were stealing a glance at this Young Master's body! There will be consequences for your rudeness!”

But Gu Feidi didn’t hear any of his words.

He lay on the ground motionlessly. He even gazed up and down on Su Yang’s smiling face, and murmured again, “It was a crimson epiphyllum…”

The smile appearing at the corner of his lips was impossible to cover up, as he whispered, “So it was me who got upset over nothing…”

Su Yang was completely confused. What had come over Gu Feidi?

But before he had time to ask, Gu Feidi suddenly propped up his body and held him in his arms.

The embrace was not tight. Gu Feidi seemed to pay extra attention to the wound on Su Yang’s back. He dared not use too much force. But his cheek was pressed tightly against the spot between Su Yang’s neck and shoulder. The gentle touch made Su Yang feel numb all over.

Su Yang wanted to push Gu Feidi away, but smelling the light flower fragrance emitted from Gu Feidi, he stopped.

“What’s wrong?” He asked in a low voice.

Instead of answering, Gu Feidi loosened his hold and released Su Yang from his arms.

Still sitting on top of Gu Feidi, Su Yang looked alluring. Because of their fight, his clothes were ripped, hair in a mess, cheeks were glowing red, and even his small mole appeared like fire as he smiled faintly with both his lips and eyebrows.

He lowered his head and fixed his eyes on Gu Feidi’s youthful face. Then he laughed as his smile grew wider.

The two were in a strange position at the moment, one would describe it as a compromising position. Su Yang abruptly felt something was…not right.

Gu Feidi’s expression changed immediately.

He lifted Su Yang off, curled up his feet, shifted a meter backward, and sat down with his head lowered, not uttering a single word.

Su Yang’s core came from modern times. He, of course, would know what happened after a moment of reflection.

When eighteen-nineteen years old guys couldn’t stand being teased, and as someone with experience, he would naturally understand—it could happen when friends who were occasionally horsing around, wrestled into this type of intimate position, this could possibly trigger something embarrassing.

Besides Gu Feidi being an overly conservative brat, he must be very self-disciplined in this respect, and would be very sensitive when displaying this kind of reaction. This was such a common trope!

Recalling this, Su Yang couldn’t help but want to commit a small misconduct.

It was Gu Feidi’s fault for pressuring him into a fight. He didn’t even show mercy! As the Young Master of the Evil Sect, revenge was obligated.

“Oh? What are you hiding? We are both men. Who wouldn’t know what you are trying to hide?” Su Yang teased as he inched closer to Gu Feidi.

With just a few words, a layer of light red soared from Gu Feidi’s neck to his ears.

Gu Feidi was fuming with rage between gritted teeth. “Do not speak about things that are contrary to propriety!”

Pretending to be in shock, Su Yang mocked, “It was you who obviously acted inappropriately to me first!”

Gu Feidi snapped, “You…”

Su Yang rebuked, “Yes, ultimately shameless, I am aware. I have you to constantly remind me of it.”

Gu Feidi: “...”

Smiling with frustration, as if a violent current were brewing under the deep ocean, he fixed his gaze on Su Yang and uttered, “If you only knew…we will see who would laugh then!”

Startled, Su Yang asked, “Know what?”

Gu Feidi expelled a heavy breath.

Clenching his fists, he got up and strode away toward the inner stone chamber.

Watching Gu Feidi’s fleeing shadow, Su Yang realised he had recovered some lost ground as he sat and enjoyed the pleasant satisfaction for a short duration, before he got up and patted away the dirt. He wrapped the ragged clothes sloppily and followed Gu Feidi.

Once in the chamber, his head was fully covered by clothing tossed by Gu Feidi.

Gu Feidi’s voice traveled to his ears, “Put it on. The night here is cold, you should be mindful of it.”

What was thrown at him was a soft cotton inner robe. The cloth was still warm as Gu Feidi just took it off.

Su Yang pulled the clothes off of his head, glancing over at Gu Feidi who was facing away from him as he directly put his outer coat over his outer robe. The rough cotton texture of the outer coat from the repeated wash and starch must have made it very stiff. Although separated by a layer of outer robe, the robe was thin and must be uncomfortable.

He said, “Give me the outer coat, you keep your inner robe.”

But Gu Feidi counter offered, “Since you are wounded, you should wear something softer.”

As he said that, he had straightened out his outer coat and tied his belt.

Since the other party suggested it, Su Yang had no reason to argue. He efficiently peeled off the ripped cloth and covered himself with Gu Feidi’s inner robe.

The clothes carried a faint scent of floral fragrance. The pleasant smell calmed Su Yang down. He knew it was from the Rejuvenating Pill of Fragrant Sorrow. Even after over two years, the smell lingered.

Teo: So I just realized I translated the name of Su Yang’s sect wrong. By itself, 曇 means dark clouds. But with flower (花), it becomes epiphyllum (曇花).
