Please Come Up With a More Serious Setting!

Gu Feidi looked very serious saying this. It didn’t sound like an expression of appreciation, but a promise to Su Yang.

During his time filming, the script did not contain a detailed description of the rejuvenating pill, only mentioning its legendary property in one line of verse. Naturally, Su Yang didn’t understand where the party of four’s anger was coming from. Hearing Gu Feidi’s promise, he thought that Gu Feidi was really grateful for his kindness in not killing him, and the caring sentiment in offering the pill.

The corner of his mouth lifted upward as he chuckled. “There is no need for repayment. As long as you don’t forget this Young Master’s good deed, I will be satisfied.”

—This muddled phrase was something he improvised purely according to the Young Master’s character.

But what he did not expect was that this unscripted line would fall into Gu Feidi’s ears, and simply confirm the speculation he harboured on the other person’s errant thoughts.

After all, Gu Feidi was still young, and grew up in a simple environment. Being confronted by a person like Su Yang for the first time, it was inevitable for him to be indignant and full of shame.

His whole face was red and the tip of his ears looked as if blood was oozing out.

Pu Lingyun snapped, “You! Not even in your dreams! Xiao Shixiong will never be bewitched by you!”

Su Yang: “...”

Fine, you are right. After all, you are the heroine.

Su Yang curled his lip. With nothing else to add, he leaned back against a cliff wall, crossing his arms and yawning in utter boredom.

Soon, many young candidates carrying jade bells arrived at the gate, and each found a familiar companion or friend to chat with.

Gu Feidi had always been well respected among the young and talented in Wulin. Not to mention having a father who was the current Leader of the Wulin Alliance, and perfecting Tengyun Pavilion’s Path to Home: Battlement, third chapter—everyone was thrilled to make friends with him.

After arriving at the mountain gate, most of the newcomers would first greet Gu Feidi. Some would hover beside him for a long time, hoping for the chance to start a conversation with him.

Completely opposite to Gu Feidi’s bustling environment, Su Yang’s surroundings were deserted.

So much so that it was as though he had set up an invisible barrier around the area.

The degree of reception between the rookies in the righteous way and the Evil Sect’s Young Master could be immediately judged with a single glance.

The young martial artists occasionally snuck a peek at Su Yang, gaining some kind of superiority from his lonely state from gods-know-where. They turned around triumphantly and whispered to their new friends.

“So hear me out, there are some fools in the Jianghu who actually compared Young Hero Gu with that Evil Sect’s demon spawn—simply a bunch of nonsense.”

“That’s right! Tengyun Pavilion’s Path to Home: Returning to the Nest is recognised as an incredibly difficult mental skill to master in Wulin. Yet, Young Hero Gu has already perfected the third volume of Path to Home at the tender age of sixteen, truly an extraordinary talent.”

“It’s said that the Evil Sect’s Young Master cultivated his mental skill with the Fallen Flower Burial or something. You can tell the method is nothing good just by the name. Perhaps the reason his internal energy soared so quickly was due to absorbing others’ predestined lifespan, feasting on their flesh, and soaking in their blood!”

“For real?”

“This demonic method...even if his internal energy rises quickly, maybe there will be long-term damage somewhere. That’s why the Evil Sect treats their Young Master as a treasure…”

“If history tells us anything, it’s that the Evil Sect has always acted strangely. I can’t guarantee if this rumour is true, but he—it’s said that he has had countless slaves as bed warmers since childhood. He must have consumed their life essences! What I say is everyone should stay vigilant, and remain careful not to be marked by that demon spawn…”

The young candidates thought that their voices were low enough to keep them from being overheard, but they didn’t expect Su Yang, who had a breakthrough in Six Night Flower Burial’s last chapter, to have excellent hearing because of the rapid progression in his internal energy. Su Yang took in everything that was said.

To say he was furious was an overstatement. After all, he knew he was playing a villainous role, and it was logical to be disliked.

But those assumptions from groundless accusations irritated him—why was this filthy speech the only topic coming out of these children's mouths?! Bed warming slaves? Consuming their life essences? Why were they still concerned about themselves when they were such ugly and repulsive side characters?!

He himself had never dated once in both his last and current lives! He was clearly a straightforward, upright, kind-hearted, honest man, with a firm and unyielding character…and a virgin!

But when he pondered deeper, he actually was not one hundred percent sure...

It had only been a few days since he transmigrated into the script. Things were also too chaotic during his stay at the Evil Sect, so he didn’t carefully observe his surroundings. Even during filming in the real world, as a supporting role, apart from acting with the leading role, he really didn’t touch upon the details of his persona’s private life.

Therefore, he didn’t know what kind of person this ‘Evil Sect’s Young Master’ was, other than his involvement in the script.

As a result, he leaned close to his petal retainer, who was beside him and inquired in a low voice, “Hey! I want to ask you something. I left in a hurry a few days ago and forgot to take care of it. What arrangements will be made for those bed warmers back at the Sect?”

The petal retainer paused, thought for a moment, and answered, “Young Master, with your great achievement in your breakthrough, indeed, you are no longer required to remain chaste. From the beauties you captured throughout the mortal world and Jianghu to serve you, I believe the elders will take advantage of your time away and choose the obedient ones for proper teaching. They will be the ones making the arrangements for you.”

Su Yang uttered, “Oh…”

After a while, he felt something was wrong and questioned in shock, “Wait a moment, remain chaste?”

The petal retainer was stumped for words, “That’s right.”

Su Yang facepalmed. “What the hell is this? Who am I remaining chaste for?”

After the Young Master’s cleansing a few days ago, the petal retainer knew the consequence of his breakthrough included a minor memory disorder. Hearing this question didn’t surprise him. Instead, he explained patiently, “What you practice, Six Night Flower Burial, requires the user to retain all of their reproductive energyReproductive energy: 精元 It is also known as semen. 😉 and not lose even the slightest amount. That was the reason the Sect Leader fell short near the end of his training.”

Su Yang: “…”

What kind of bizarre martial arts skill is this?

Can the screenwriter please come up with a more serious setting?!

However, in some ways, good or bad, this skill had been a breakthrough and accomplished by the ‘original’. So he didn’t have to be troubled by it, and it actually saved him from more headaches.

Learning that this body had never experienced anything ‘not suitable for work’, his mood brightened.

Being in a better mood, he couldn’t bear to not be smug for a bit.

Thus, he put on a devious smirk and narrowed his eyes towards the group of people, who were muttering malicious things about him behind his back. He raised his arms and stretched lazily, letting the broad sleeves slide down to his elbows, revealing his smooth, white arms. A string of bright red coralline beads wrapped around his delicate wrist bone, which further accented his energetic beauty.

“It’s not a good practice to talk about others’ secrets behind their back.”

Purposefully drawing the words out, with a peculiar voice and accompanied by the most coquettish tone, he said, “This Young Master has a high standard. Not just anyone can be my bed warming slave. Don’t worry, I won’t set my sights on your side…you imbeciles.”

The rebuke he threw together was very general as he couldn’t come up with a good four character idiom on the spot. In any case, the improvised line’s imposing manner still matched his image.

He was feeling quite proud as his gaze drifted to Gu Feidi to see how the protagonist would react to his performance.

But in the onlookers’ eyes, when his gaze shifted, it turned into an implication, as if he was saying: “I won’t set my sight on you, imbeciles. Only Gu Feidi has the privilege to be marked.”

Gu Feidi’s group’s expression immediately changed.

Even the young martial artists mingling around had an expression like still water, cold and rigid. Each of them came forward and placed Gu Feidi behind them, glaring at Su Yang.

Su Yang: “…”

This scene made him look like a sexual predator.

“Naturally, these fools don’t deserve the Young Master’s attention.”

Suddenly, a slightly playful voice came from above the crowd, “Young Master please look, how would I do?”

Su Yang was long aware of the newcomer near him, but he didn’t expect it to be someone of this role—anyone in the Jianghu who respectfully called him ‘Young Master’ was, unfortunately, not someone from the righteous way.

He raised his head and looked at the cliff behind him. There was a young man in an emerald green, form-fitting garment embroidered with a peacock, who was hanging upside down from the branch of a small tree extending out of the cliff. Even with his head faced down, his smile was as joyous and carefree as the spring breeze.

Su Yang regained his senses and resumed his persona, but before he could talk, the man had performed a somersault from the cliff and landed smoothly on the ground.

He flung his braid full of bluish-green beads behind him and smiling brightly, said, “It’s an honour to meet you at last! This humble person is Fan Xi of Qinglian Sect, age seventeen. I heard that you achieved a great breakthrough in your skills some days ago. A hearty congratulations!”

A decent, pleasant-to-hear string of words.

Su Yang had a sudden understanding: Oh! It turned out to be the Young Master’s number one lackey.

Fan Xi was the second son of Qinglian Sect’s Sect Leader, and was also known as Fan Er Er: Two, or ‘Second’.in the Jianghu.

In the script Fan Er was a clown role丑角 or Chou Role (clown role) is comic relief character with colourful appearance. from head to tail. Due to budgeting, he didn’t have much screen time and was cast by a random and mediocre appearance actor in the entertainment circle.

Comparing him with the one before his eyes, a sun-kissed skinned and bright-eyed young man, this one was more exquisite and adorable than the actor. A quick-witted, playful and cunning personality, carrying a sense of culture. Not at all annoying and irritable.

However, didn’t Fan Xi have any part in the House of Jade arc in the script?

Su Yang couldn’t help puckering his brows, trying to recall the details carefully.

If he remembered correctly, Fan Er’s supporting role was added into the drama in the wasteland fight—a later arc. Even the characters from the House of Jade were in small numbers since the focus was on Gu Feidi, Pu Lingyun, and Xu Yunzhan. Even a role like his, as a Young Master, was just to show his face and quickly be eliminated during the selection process.

So…at that time when he transmigrated a few days ago, did the event cause some sort of evil wind? To go as far as to collapse the plot thoroughly and completely?!

He felt it would be necessary for him to re-examine his transmigration more closely.

Could it be that what he transmigrated into was not the script, but the original novel before the adaptation to a web drama?

He suddenly regretted not reading the original novel, or he would have known the parts that the screenwriter removed and altered…

“Er, Young Master?”

Seeing that Su Yang did not reply for a long time, Fan Xi felt awkward and asked once more carefully.

When Su Yang regained his senses, he stretched out his hand and patted Fan Xi on his shoulder, saying, “Oh, you’re not bad, you’re a good man.”

Fan Xi: “…”

Authors Corner

Author has something to say:

Su Yang: I want to read the original source

Gu Feidi: No, no you don’t

Translator's Corner

Translator has something to add: I didn’t touch upon this, but ‘coming of age at twenty’ (弱冠 ) is a term from ancient times, when young men (no women) reaching that age, they could officially call themselves as adults. So they would be putting on their ‘adult hat’ (crown/ guan/ 冠) as the start of their path to adulthood but their body was still just a young men, like the weak (ruo/ 弱) in the name. Don’t you love it when you have to translate the page from Baidu wiki 😀
