The cultivators outside the array gradually noticed that the inside was safe. Seniors began to instruct people to calm down and get inside the array first.

Chi Muyao raised his head in Xi Huai's arms and peeked at Su You. Seeing that Su You was still immobile, he guessed that these cultivators entering the array was also part of his plan.

He could only try to send a divine sense transmission to Yi Qianxi.

Yi Qianxi was flying down the mountain with the blue fox in her arms. Because the speed of her artefact was too slow, she was left far behind the others.

Just entering the transmission range, she heard Chi Muyao tell her, "Shijie, don't come here!"

"What's the matter?" Yi Qianxi stopped immediately and asked. At the same time, she looked up at the blood rain that was raining down on the Grand Array with a serious expression.

Chi Muyao knew that if he told her to escape immediately, she would definitely not agree. This girl was reckless when it came to saving him.

He could only tell Yi Qianxi, "There is a problem here. You back off and set up a formation. I will go to find you so be ready to assist me."

"Okay!" Yi Qianxi didn't ask anything more and immediately turned around with the blue fox.

The blue fox sensed something, but at this moment it was too weak to help Chi Muyao at all.

It put a paw on Yi Qianxi's body and set up a protective barrier around her. It could only help Yi Qianxi, who was closest to it at this moment. Chi Muyao probably wanted this as well.

After confirming that Yi Qianxi wasn't coming closer, Chi Muyao looked up at Xi Huai.

Xi Huai no longer sent him transmissions. He just looked at him and comforted him with his eyes, quietly clenching the Soul Renewal Lamp in his hand.

Chi Muyao pressed a finger on the golden clock, at the ready.

He knew that it would be very difficult for them to escape while they were so close to Su You, especially since Su You was focused on them.

They could only hold on to their life-saving artefacts at the moment.

On the other side, Yu Yanshu finally recovered a little. However, he could only stand steady with someone supporting him. He turned and saw that Xi Huai had been sitting on the ground.

Chi Muyao sat in Xi Huai's arms, hugging the man's shoulders. He was obviously very reliant on Xi Huai.

Since when have these two people developed such an intimate relationship?

Looking again, he could see that the people outside the array had opened it and scrambled inside. Their former regal demeanour abandoned, they fought like crazy to squeeze through the gap.

After they entered, Xi Huai finally got up. He held Chi Muyao's waist with one arm and seemed ready to take Chi Muyao and quickly escape at any moment.

Unfortunately, as soon as they moved, Su You threw down a barrier to block their way, flashing a smile at them.

This ‘special care’ was really annoying.

After the outsiders gradually entered the array, Su You glanced around, his smile becoming more resplendent. He even laughed a bit hysterically.

Running calculations on his right hand, he used his divine sense to observe his surroundings. Once about eighty people gathered inside, he looked up at the sky.

Following Su You's gaze upwards, they saw a hurricane forming in the sky, and sweeping towards them.

Powerful winds overturned heaven and earth, devouring all in its path, whether they be human or vegetation.

This wind was more sentient than the rain, entering the array through the gaps created by the outside cultivators. It soon became rampant inside the array.

The level of chaos present escalated again. Cries for help, of despair, mingled with the whistling of the wind.

Xi Huai took advantage of the chaos to forcibly break through the barrier and quickly fled with Chi Muyao.

In this kind of violent wind, it was not suitable to use flying artefacts, which would only be swallowed even more quickly. The two of them could only hold hands and quickly duck into the forest. Later, it became Chi Muyao fleeing with Xi Huai using the He Huan Sect's quick-step technique. Xi Huai could barely keep up at top speed.

Unfortunately, they thought that they had run far enough, but Su You still caught up again. He blocked their path and asked in an icy tone, "Where do you think you're going?"

"Fuck off!" Xi Huai summoned the Hui to attack Su You.

Su You dodged the attack and pulled out his sword and clashed with the beast.

Xi Huai took the opportunity to escape with Chi Muyao in another direction, but another Su You blocked their path. Turning back, he could see that the previous Su You was still fighting.

Another puppet doppleganger!

Why was Su You such a difficult opponent?!

Xi Huai could only hold the Soul Renewal Lamp in front of Chi Muyao and pull out his sword. “What are you trying to do?”

"Nothing." Su You was still smiling. His face now contorted like a madman.

His objective didn't seem to be killing them. After exchanging a blow or two with Xi Huai, he pushed the two of them into the hurricane. Chi Muyao was implicated in the aftermath of the fight between the two of them. He could not even use the golden clock.

When Xi Huai was swallowed by the wind, the summoned Hui also disappeared.

There was chaos in the array as many cultivators were caught by the wind.

Yu Yanshu was already injured and couldn't hold on. When he was almost caught by the wind, someone suddenly kicked him.

The kick looked heavy, but it only served to kick him out of the range where he would be swept away by the hurricane.

After Yu Yanshu landed on the ground, he looked over and saw that the person who kicked him was Su You. The man simply glanced at him before he entered the hurricane.

Yu Yanshu lay on the ground. He was so weak that his eyes were struggling to stay open. He could barely feel the wind dispersing as suddenly as it had come.

He tried to probe using his divine sense and found that very few people survived. Those who were able to stay safe were those with higher cultivation, or those who have artifacts to protect themselves. They were more able to stabilise themselves and not be taken away when the wind was roaring.

At this time, he heard the conversation of the Heavenly Venerables, "Sure enough, it was the Eighty-one Plates of the Mausoleum array. You have to assemble eighty-one people to activate this ancient formation. Su You deliberately lured us in."

"That array will disappear after gathering eighty-one people. The Heavenly Punishment also seems to be over."

Yan Yanshu lay on the ground as if he had fainted, but his mind was particularly sober.

Some of the Heavenly Venerables outside knew the Heavenly Punishment had arrived, and they also knew that they needed to gather eighty-one people to end it.

So they came in on purpose, and when they came in, they brought in the hurricane on purpose. They did not protect their disciples, but chose to save themselves. After all, they just needed to feed eighty-one people to the Heavenly Punishment to end it.

Did they...not care about even their own disciples? It was understandable for them to abandon the original disciples sealed inside the array, for they were not their own. However, many of the Golden Core stage cultivators who came inside were theirs, right?

Weren't they honourable Heavenly Venerables? Weren't they existences that would save the world?

So, the people he always respected were this cruel.

Everyone was the same...

Selfish.

Within the Mitian Tongyin Array, most people chose to hide and save themselves. Only he went to help Xi Huai kill the Golden-eyed Heavenly Wolf. After that, he was judged by his peers to be aloof and irrational.

During the Exam, he was touched when Chi Muyao chose to remain alone in the formation. He admired Chi Muyao's willingness to sacrifice himself, but he heard how other people disparaged Chi Muyao as a fool.

He didn't care at the time. He was even a little joyful that he had met someone like himself.

He thought this was a love bigger than themselves, that this was kindness, that they were both people who could save the world.

Then, he met Su You in the pure land, and the man told him many strange things.

Like how Heavenly Venerables had sold out the elders of his Yu family in order to please the Demonic Faction and secure peace, telling the world they had pacified the Demonic Faction instead.

These things caused Yu Yanshu's inner world to collapse. His once stalwart stance began to shake. He started looking for someone like him to comfort himself, to assure himself his stance was right.

Yet that person didn't want him getting closer.

Chi Muyao refused him very gently.

Now, after experiencing the day's events, the last insistence in his heart had collapsed...

Disappointment...

He was so disappointed!

He heard the Heavenly Venerable speak again, “It is known that the Eighty-one Plates of the Mausoleum claims eight lives out of every nine. There is not a regularity in the formation, and only one person out of every nine can survive. After several rounds of slaughter, the last nine survivors have to walk down different paths at the same time, only one leading to the exit. Su You will probably be the lone survivor."

In other words, only one person who entered this ancient Heavenly Punishment could come out, and that was most likely Su You. The rest were probably going to die there.

Chi Muyao seemed to have been swept inside as well.

The only one who shared his morals and got along with him was gone.

Yu Yanshu couldn't even cry. He could only clench his fists in secret.

At this moment, he heard a girl shouting Chi Muyao's name everywhere. She was screaming herself hoarse, but she didn't care.

In the end, she simply cried, "Didn't you say I would assist you? Why didn't you come?! What am I supposed to say to Shifu, to Daddy... Shidi, don't scare me. You're just hiding, right?!"

Yan Yanshu can only close his eyes in avoidance.

He didn't even dare to face Yi Qianxi.

The moon above the Ling Que mountain range finally returned to normal.

The residual miasma inside the array was dispersed by the hurricane.

Having lost its purpose, the broken remains of the grand Array were recalled by the Nascent Soul stage Heavenly Venerables.

At the foot of the mountain, there was a scene of chaos littering the path the hurricane tore through. There were still residual puddles of blood strewn about, reflecting the bright moon in the sky. Eerily beautiful.

Yi Qianxi knelt on the ground, exhausted from crying. She hugged the blue fox and looked around the forest again.

The Nuan Yan Pavilion and the other sects' people already retreated with the injured. Gradually, only she was left.

She came at the Nuan Yan Pavilion's personal invitation, but no one cared when it was time to leave.

She gazed sightlessly into the forest, hoping for Chi Muyao to come out and tell her he was hiding just now or he had fainted and couldn't answer her.

But...why did Mu Ren tell her just now that Chi Muyao had been swept away by the wind?

She sniffed and mounted her artefact with the blue fox, slowly returning to the Yu Chong School.

At the last moment, she had heard Chi Muyao say, "Return to the Yu CHong School and hide my soul-bound lamp."

Now, she was going to do as he said.

She didn't know how she managed to get back. Passing the doorway, she first gave the blue fox to a little disciple before rushing into the ritual hall. When she came to where the Sect stored the disciples' soul-bound lamps, she saw that Chi Muyao's was still lit.

She stared at it, alternating between laughing and crying. Before Hao Xia and Yi Lan came in, she put the lamp into her qiankun bag.
