A Young and Single Female’s Taste Shouldn’t be This Hardcore!

Less than twenty days from the twelfth lunar month’s winter solstice...

Although the Miracle Village at the foot of the Jade Mountains was not covered in snow, it had already welcomed the cold winds of winter, as it blew down the mottled leaves as far as eyes could see.

Su Yang was wrapped in a greyish-white fox fur cloak, with a hood over his head, showing only below his nose and covering the rest.

He took a Core Warming Pill before he went down the mountain. It was very strong, which caused a deep blush on his face, making his lips appear more delicate and lovely. Besides the snow hindering their path down the mountain, Su Yang was prohibited from using his internal energy, making the journey really exhausting for him. Most of the way, he was leaning in Gu Feidi’s arms. Even without a long skirt, he looked very much like a miss from a distance that could capture anyone’s tender affection.

The villagers rarely met someone who could steal others’ souls, only with half of their faces visible. The irresistible beauty stunned them before they suddenly realised that Luo Yu, the Elegant Jade’s Miracle Doctor, actually descended the mountain in person.

The village was small, which made news spread very quickly. The villagers surrounded Luo Yu in less time than it took to drink one cup of tea or fifteen minutes.

However, everyone present knew that the bodyguard called ‘A-Yue’, who was beside the doctor, couldn’t be provoked, so they gathered three to six meters away, shouting words of thanks with excitement on their faces as they didn’t dare to approach the great doctor. Seeing that someone brought four horses for Luo Yu and his party, the villagers soon guessed they were going away, and began feeling resentful towards the person with the horses.

That person was one of Luo Yu’s formal students.

After passing the reins, he wanted to say something but then hesitated for a long time.

“Sir,” He said while saluting Luo Yu. “...Please have a safe trip.” Finally, he asked what every villager wanted to know. “Sir, will you be returning? There are still many difficult and complicated diseases that we, the students, are not familiar with yet…”

Although Luo Yu was known for his strange temper and one who never hid his emotions from others, he would always treat his students and patients with a kind smile.

“Once I’m done, I naturally will be returning.” He announced. “I’ll have to trouble you and other doctors to look after everyone in my absence.”

When Luo Yu answered this, everyone in the village seemed relieved.

A brave villager came forward and handed Qin Jianyue a bag that contained individual small paper bags. He smiled in a friendly way toward Luo Yu. “Miracle Doctor, these are homemade vegetable stuffed buns. Please accept them for the journey!”

He was like the scout for an army as more and more villagers came forward to give Qin Jianyue more things to take on the trip. One handed two eggs, another handed over dried biscuits. There was even a hunter who presented salted dried fish and a coat made from fox’s fur.

The scene soon turned chaotic, and Qin Jianyue finally shouted loudly to calm the enthusiastic crowd.

Luo Yu picked the food that was travel friendly, which was enough to consider as accepting every villagers’ gratitude. Finally, on the pretext that the horses couldn’t carry everything, he refused the others, reined his horse away and left the village quickly.

Once they were far from the village, Qin Jianyue smiled at the other man. “After witnessing such a scene, do you still refuse to study medicine for the living and continue to live in seclusion?”

Luo Yu glanced back and uttered, “Yes, I’m moved, but I still don’t like trouble…I still find more joy in learning medicine than putting it in practice.”

Listening to the conversation, Su Yang blinked slowly and commented, “It doesn’t matter whether or not uncle stays in seclusion. With uncle’s current fame, there are already a large number of people who have heard of him and are bound to come to seek treatment…”

Qin Jianyue smiled and shook his head. “Even if many people know of his name and skill, how many patients can overcome the difficulties and dangers of climbing the snowy mountain for treatment?”

Then it suddenly dawned on Su Yang.

With the ancient setting of this world, it could never be compared with the super convenient and fast transportation of the modern period. They were the few outliers with horses and carts at their disposal at any time, which were something that was too luxurious for the common people. Take him, for example, to remove the Poisonous Gu, he travelled from the wasteland to the southwest snowy mountain, a task that very few could do.

“If uncle doesn’t like trouble, he can also accept more disciples or start a medical school.” Su Yang began to run his tongue off again. “Then spread your disciples around the Jianghu for fieldwork, just like what the House of Jade does with their disciples. You can soon cover the whole nation even...”

Luo Yu cast a sideways glance at Su Yang. “To hear such a suggestion from your mouth…Are you really raised by Su Huaizhu? Don’t tell me you were switched as a child.”

Su Yang: “...”

Su Yang and Gu Feidi looked at each other. The first man stuck the tip of his tongue out while the second one smiled, a tacit mutual understanding between them.

* * *

Mount Mei Zhu, where the House of Jade resided, was located north of the Central Plains, sandwiched between the Central Plains and the wasteland in the northwest. In the northeast, there was the barbarian clan that had very little presence, as their power in the Wulin was even with the Qinglian Sect. The party chose to take a straight path to the north, as their first destination was Mount Mei Zhu.

After passing the plain via the middle, they arrived at the northern mountains area. The signs of winter became more apparent as they encountered their first heavy snowstorm.

Su Yang finally couldn’t bear the cold weather as he went into a deep sleep without warning and almost fell off of his horse. Fortunately, Gu Feidi was close enough to quickly grab the sleeping man and pull him into his arms, using his internal energy to warm the older man up.

The property of the Core Warming Pill was strange. The more a user consumed it, the less effective it would be, so Su Yang couldn’t take it unless it was absolutely necessary. Because of their hasty journey, Luo Yu had no choice but to stuff another pill into Su Yang’s mouth as they insisted on travelling until dusk. Only once the snowstorm became heavier, they had to temporarily wait for the storm to stop.

They stayed in the courtyard of a lone hunter in the mountains. It was a storage for firewood and a workroom to clean the hunter’s kills. There was no bed, only a simple layer of dried hay on the floor, which could barely isolate the cold coming from the ground.

Gu Feidi took out all the fur coats from their luggage and spread them on the hay. Then he picked up Su Yang, who was wrapped into a ball, laid him down on the makeshift bed, grabbed the ice-cold hand and gave his warm internal energy.

The conditions of the isolated house were limited. There was no charcoal fire to light the heated pot. Fortunately, the doors and windows here were well ventilated, so Qin Jianyue started a fire in the centre to warm the house.

Luo Yu borrowed the kitchen to boil some water and filled two warm water bags that were placed in Su Yang’s arms.

After checking Su Yang’s pulse, Luo Yu sighed, grabbed Gu Feidi’s wrist to check his pulse and his internal status. He determined that Gu Feidi’s body could temporarily relieve Su Yang, for the time being, so he gave the younger man an order to dual cultivate.

Su Yang was pulled out of his sleep. Not fully awake for a moment, he was in a trance and wasn’t fully aware of his surroundings…Until Gu Feidi completed his order. Su Yang gradually recovered his coherent thoughts and looked at the simple walls, ceiling, and bed made of hay in shock.

“Where are we?” He asked Gu Feidi in surprise. “Did I fall asleep again?”

Gu Feidi reached out to help pick out the hay stuck in his bed hair. “We are temporarily staying in a hunter’s courtyard…How are you feeling? Do you feel warmer now? More awake?”

Su Yang, who was bundled in his coat, nodded in embarrassment.

Gu Feidi dropped a gentle kiss on Su Yang’s forehead and got up to grab a warm basin of water to freshen them up.

After everything was tidied up, Luo Yu went into the house and examined Su Yang and Gu Feidi’s pulses. Once he was done, he breathed a sigh of relief. “Thankfully, although it was an expedient measure, it was enough.”

He accepted the ginger herbal soup from Qin Jianyue, poured Su Yang and Gu Feidi each a bowl and instructed them to drink it.

Gu Feidi took the bowl, looked at Luo Yu suspiciously and asked, “Me as well?”

“You already have some cold energy in your body. Naturally, it’s for precautions.” Luo Yu explained. “If the journey stays smooth, you won’t have to dual cultivate again until we reach Mount Mei Zhu. But if another snowstorm stops our paths, you might have to do it two or three more times…If that happens, your body will surely be affected by the cold energy in his body.”

It took a while for Su Yang to understand what Luo Yu meant. He accidentally choked on his herbal soup and coughed violently.

Gu Feidi hurried forward to pat him on the back. Su Yang blushed like a tomato from the coughing before he turned to Luo Yu with a mortified expression. He looked back at Gu Feidi and asked in a whisper, “Do they know what happened just now?!”

Gu Feidi also found it a little embarrassing to answer the question. He just nodded very quickly—the courtyard was small, and the two seniors were skilled in martial arts. There was no way for them to block their enhanced hearing. Also, Su Yang was muddle-headed from coming out of sleep. He didn’t have much self-restraint…

There was an awkward atmosphere for a moment. Su Yang felt that his cheeks and ears seemed to be generating enough heat to start a fire. He drank the medicine silently and handed the bowl to Gu Feidi. He was too embarrassed to look Luo Yu in the face.

Luo Yu was amused by Su Yang’s expression and said with a smile, “I didn’t know you could be such a shy child, I always thought with Su Huaizhu’s daring nature…”

Before he finished, Qin Jianyue nudged him gently with his feet. Luo Yu glanced at Gu Feidi and didn’t continue.

Inside Su Yang’s head, ‘Su Huaizhu as the Leader of the Evil Sect, there shouldn’t be many things he won’t dare to do according to his character setting.

After all, piecing together the shattered pieces from what Luo Yu shared, he guessed that the Young Master’s biological mother was someone who was forcefully abducted by the Sect Leader. He also assumed she was never freed from their clutches.

However, Luo Yu’s tone when talking of the Sect Leader never sounded like he was talking about an enemy. On the contrary…It was like he was talking about a close friend.

Thinking of the Jianghu rumours, Gu Ruohai, the Wulin Alliance Leader, used to be friends with the Evil Sect’s Leader, but now they were on opposite sides. Then he remembered the flower hairpin given to Gu Feidi by the Sect Leader that could be used to seek treatment from Luo Yu…Su Yang thought that this world was filled with strange brotherhood.

For example, when Qin-shu was around doctor Luo, their relationship appeared very intimate…

Bringing that subject up, Su Yang’s eyes quietly moved to the two seniors beside him, just in time to catch Qin Jianyue’s fingers sneak into Luo Yu’s sleeves and gently curled his fingers with the other man, before quickly retracting them.

Su Yang: “...”

Wait a minute, what was that?

Would two close friends of many years make such little movements?

Su Yang was confused as he looked up at Qin Jianyue.

Who stood behind Luo Yu like a pine tree with a face void of emotion.

Su Yang thought that he must be seeing things just now.

Just because he became a homosexual Young Master who inexplicably bent Gu Feidi, it didn’t mean everyone around him was giving him the GAY vibe. The original author was a young and single female. There was no way for her taste to be this hardcore!

Authors Corner

The author has something to say:

Because I deleted some plots in the manuscript, this chapter didn’t add up to ten coins* QwQ… I will set my own flag and drop to the ground…

*Ten coins: jjwxc currency. I guessed a chapter needs to be 3k to get that amount (I usually buy my chapters in bulk, and without looking at the total coins cost LOL).
